Has anyone visited this site yet? It was featured in this month’s Billiard Digest so I decided to check it out as I consider BD one of the more reputable sources of pool info. It’s brand new so there isn’t much on it yet. I normally don’t like to plug anything. Still, I think it may have some potential. You can create a free profile and search for players in your area. You can even search by specific games. I’m looking forward to seeing if anyone in my area is up for a straight pool match. Who knows? M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

I’m not sure how well it’s going to work…I can’t see that many people signing up, at least not several in an area (which would be the point, right?). I don’t know everybody who plays at all in my area, but I’ve heard of pretty much everyone who’s any good, you know? So if I want to meet someone to play, I’d just go to whatever pool room he or she plays in and ask to play (not that I do stuff like that, but if I wanted to :) ). I guess it would be good if you’re new to an area, though, or if you’re looking for a specific game that not a lot of people play. But still, it seems unlikely that it would work, for you especially. What are the chances that the one or two other people that sign up in your area also want to play straight pool?

I sound like a total pessimist…Sorry. I do hope it works out. I guess it could also draw out the people who just play at home. Well, spread the word.

Good luck :)

All right, I’m back…looked again more thoroughly this time…I think it has potential…Still not entirely optimistic, although I did notice that lots of people on there listed straight pool as one of the games they played…so maybe you’ll find someone :)
Good luck again :)

Another great place to shop for who created the game of pool billiards products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
