along the edges of my pool table the felt is worn can this create valleys so the the ball will stay in these vallies or curve out of them

Certainly. Worn cloth (not “felt” by the way) can form gullies that will throw your balls off line. You may want to replace the cloth if it’s this worn. Get some top quality cloth like Simonis or Brunswick Centennial. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
