Professional Moving Crew or do I hire local muscle?
I just hired a professional moving company to move me from one large home to another one 1/2 hr away. I like that I don’t have to worry about the truck, the pool table logistics, and my furniture arrives unscratched. (I’m thinking that professional movers would cover me if anything is damaged.) However… sticker shock…. $3300!!
My ex boyfriend has offered to help me move a 3000 sq foot home with new furniture to a location 1/2 hour away. (A pool table is also going.) Estimated cost: $600 – $1000.
Problems: nonprofessionals not knowing how to move furniture… scratches, dents, etc…
What to do? What to do??
Consider splitting the job. Have the professional movers transport things like the pool table. Always hire professional movers for anything like a piano.
