hey, i just bought a used pool table, and its a 3 piece slate, the guy i bought it from said when i join the slate together, im suppose to put some type of spackle in the crack where the slate meets the other slate, can i use any type of spackle or cocking or is it a special type? also what type of glue do i use for the felt? he said only use the glue at the pockets? can i use a upolstery glue, or vinyl glue? how much does the spackle and glue run at a billard store? thanks for your input.
Hello, Im a professional pool table installer and we use melted wax to cover the seams of the slates. Just take the wax and put a butane torch to it and run it across the seams. And scrape off the extra wax so u can no longer feel the seams. An as for the felt, we staple it onto the slate if it is 1 inch.(it should have wood on the bottom of the slate. If it dsnt have the wooden part, use spray on adhesive such as 3M Hi-tac
Make sure to fasten the felt on all sides!
