Painting my rec rm Red hot or Cranberry red, what’s the BEST beige family color to match? THANKS!?
Take into consideration that I’m adding a pool table with a red felt closest to the beige family wall. I’ve heard that Lowe’s American Traditions (Valspar) paint is very good.
Forgot to mention that the beige color I would like to use will b on the other two walls. OR, should I paint 3 walls red & 1 beige OR 2 walls red & 2 beige. Want the rm to b fun! I am leaving the ceiling, doors & all trim white.
Most rooms look best with one accent wall so you may wish to paint just one wall red. When choosing beige look at the red very carefully. Is it a red with blue undertones (cool) so that it could become purple or is it a red with yellow undertones (warm) so that it leans toward the color of a tomato? If you just aren’t sure, ask the paint desk at Lowes, or wherever, to tell you the amount of tint used to color the paint. There will be more blue or more yellow. This is important because the red will be warm or cool. You will want to choose a beige that is also warm or cool.
You will also want to complement the red with a beige that is deep enough to keep the room very rich-looking. Lowes has an amazing color card system with countless combinations.
