Purchasing a used pool table?
I’m hoping to buy my boyfriend a nice pool table for our anniversary/his birthday coming up. I’ve done a bit of research online, but not enough to know if this is a good deal — used (but in good condition) Olhausen 8′ Americana Series pool table for $600. Guy says there are some stains on the felt, but from my reading, if you disassemble the table you most likely have to have the felt replaced anyways — plus it’s not a very pretty color, doesn’t match our decor haha 
. Having the felt redone shouldn’t be more than $100 right? Also, I’m hoping to move it using 3 or 4 strong guys and a truck, that should do the trick, I hope?
I can’t find too much info about the Americana Series (same few lines about it being the cheapest solid wood Olhausen table on the market). Any thoughts? I can’t spend much more money than $750 or so …
I have an Olhausen pool table. It is a 4 1/2′ x 9′ table. Olhausen is one of the top selling tables on the market, and a very good quality one. $600 is a good price as long as it’s in relatively good condition. New cloth for the table will run you between $100 and $400 just for the cloth. Although I think re-covering a table is pretty simple, a lot of people are intimidated by the thought of it. If you hire someone to re-cover the table it will run you $100+ in labor. If you, or your boyfriend want to do it yourself feel free to e-mail me and I will walk you through it.
