pool cue bridge

Is my pool cue bridge effective?

I place my hand flat on the table, raise my hand and wrist up and off the table with my fingers locked out. I place the cue in the groove between my index knuckle and middle knuckle. Is this style of cue bridge alright?

If it works for you, there’s no need to change it. I’ve seen a few players around here that use that style of bridge. If you notice the cue pivoting or coming out of the groove on certain shots (such as when you’re applying english/side), then you may want to think about changing your type of bridge. Most pros prefer a closed bridge because it gives them more stability and control.

Another great place to shop for pool cue bridge products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
