pool cue advice

I’m looking to get a new pool cue, want to spend about $150- I was wondering what brand, weight, tip to get?

I would say I am an intermediate skill level and play 8 ball about once a week. I was looking at the McDermott’s and a 19 ounce, but was unsure about what kind of tip, and looking for advice as to other options for a brand. I want something of good quality which will last a long time. Thank you!

a McDermott is really a decent call. you can go with a viking or something of that manufatured nature. or you can search online (ebay, craigslist) and attempt to find a low class schon, ernie martinez, richard black, mottey.

pretty much what you want from a cue is a hard rock maple shaft with a pro taper. other then that you can choose what you want from a cue.

about the weight. that can be changed in every pool cue.

the tip. a Moori medium is best you can get one at your local Billiards dealer.

Another great place to shop for pool cue advice products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
